GeForce RTX 2070 Super vs Radeon RX 6750 XT

Intro

The GeForce RTX 2070 Super features a GPU core clock speed of 1605 MHz, and the 8192 MB of GDDR6 RAM runs at 1750 MHz through a 256-bit bus. It also is made up of 2560 SPUs, 160 TAUs, and 64 ROPs.

Compare those specs to the Radeon RX 6750 XT, which has a core clock speed of 2150 MHz and a GDDR6 memory frequency of 2250 MHz. It also features a 192-bit bus, and uses a 7 nm design. It features 2560 SPUs, 160 Texture Address Units, and 64 ROPs.

Power Usage and Theoretical Benchmarks

Power Consumption (Max TDP)

GeForce RTX 2070 Super 215 Watts
Radeon RX 6750 XT 250 Watts
Difference: 35 Watts (16%)

Memory Bandwidth

Theoretically, the GeForce RTX 2070 Super should perform a bit faster than the Radeon RX 6750 XT overall. (explain)

GeForce RTX 2070 Super 458752 MB/sec
Radeon RX 6750 XT 442368 MB/sec
Difference: 16384 (4%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon RX 6750 XT is much (about 34%) faster with regards to anisotropic filtering than the GeForce RTX 2070 Super. (explain)

Radeon RX 6750 XT 344000 Mtexels/sec
GeForce RTX 2070 Super 256800 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 87200 (34%)

Pixel Rate

If using lots of anti-aliasing is important to you, then the Radeon RX 6750 XT is the winner, and very much so. (explain)

Radeon RX 6750 XT 137600 Mpixels/sec
GeForce RTX 2070 Super 102720 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 34880 (34%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the max amount of data (counted in megabytes per second) that can be moved past the external memory interface in a second. The number is worked out by multiplying the interface width by its memory speed. If it uses DDR type memory, it should be multiplied by 2 once again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The higher the card's memory bandwidth, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, High Dynamic Range and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum amount of texture map elements (texels) that can be processed per second. This number is calculated by multiplying the total amount of texture units by the core clock speed of the chip. The better this number, the better the graphics card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels in a second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the most pixels the video card can possibly record to the local memory in a second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is worked out by multiplying the amount of ROPs by the clock speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also called Render Output Units) are responsible for filling the screen with pixels (the image). The actual pixel rate also depends on quite a few other factors, especially the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the ability to reach the max fill rate.
