Compare any two graphics cards:
GeForce GT 240 GDDR5 vs Radeon HD 6670 (OEM)
IntroThe GeForce GT 240 GDDR5 has a GPU core clock speed of 550 MHz, and the 512 MB of GDDR5 RAM runs at 850 MHz through a 128-bit bus. It also features 96 SPUs, 32 Texture Address Units, and 8 Raster Operation Units.Compare all that to the Radeon HD 6670 (OEM), which uses a 40 nm design. AMD has set the core frequency at 800 MHz. The GDDR5 memory is set to run at a frequency of 1000 MHz on this particular card. It features 480 SPUs as well as 24 Texture Address Units and 8 ROPs.

Power Usage and Theoretical BenchmarksPower Consumption (Max TDP)
Memory BandwidthAs far as performance goes, the Radeon HD 6670 (OEM) should in theory be a little bit superior to the GeForce GT 240 GDDR5 overall. (explain)
Texel RateThe Radeon HD 6670 (OEM) should be a bit (about 9%) more effective at AF than the GeForce GT 240 GDDR5. (explain)
Pixel RateIf using lots of anti-aliasing is important to you, then the Radeon HD 6670 (OEM) is a better choice, and very much so. (explain)
Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit. Price Comparison

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the largest amount of data (measured in megabytes per second) that can be moved past the external memory interface in a second. It's calculated by multiplying the card's bus width by its memory speed. If it uses DDR type RAM, the result should be multiplied by 2 once again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The better the memory bandwidth, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, HDR and high resolutions. Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that are processed per second. This number is calculated by multiplying the total texture units by the core speed of the chip. The higher this number, the better the graphics card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels per second. Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum number of pixels that the graphics card could possibly write to its local memory per second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The figure is worked out by multiplying the amount of Render Output Units by the clock speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - aka Render Output Units) are responsible for outputting the pixels (image) to the screen. The actual pixel rate is also dependant on lots of other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the potential to reach the maximum fill rate.
