Power Usage and Theoretical Benchmarks

Memory Bandwidth

Theoretically speaking, the Radeon R9 M365X is 25% faster than the Radeon HD 4830 1GB overall, because of its higher data rate. (explain)

Radeon R9 M365X 72000 MB/sec
Radeon HD 4830 1GB 57600 MB/sec
Difference: 14400 (25%)

Texel Rate

The Radeon R9 M365X will be a lot (approximately 101%) better at texture filtering than the Radeon HD 4830 1GB. (explain)

Radeon R9 M365X 37000 Mtexels/sec
Radeon HD 4830 1GB 18400 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 18600 (101%)

Pixel Rate

The Radeon R9 M365X will be a lot (more or less 61%) faster with regards to FSAA than the Radeon HD 4830 1GB, and also should be able to handle higher resolutions better. (explain)

Radeon R9 M365X 14800 Mpixels/sec
Radeon HD 4830 1GB 9200 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 5600 (61%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the max amount of data (measured in MB per second) that can be transported across the external memory interface in a second. The number is calculated by multiplying the bus width by the speed of its memory. In the case of DDR RAM, it should be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The better the memory bandwidth, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, High Dynamic Range and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that are processed per second. This is calculated by multiplying the total texture units of the card by the core clock speed of the chip. The higher this number, the better the graphics card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels in one second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the most pixels that the graphics card can possibly record to the local memory in a second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is worked out by multiplying the number of Raster Operations Pipelines by the the card's clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also sometimes called Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel rate is also dependant on lots of other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the ability to get to the max fill rate.
