Radeon HD 7770 80 Watts
Difference: 5 Watts (7%)

Memory Bandwidth

Theoretically speaking, the GeForce GTX 1050 3GB should be 19% quicker than the Radeon HD 7770 in general, because of its higher data rate. (explain)

GeForce GTX 1050 3GB 86016 MB/sec
Radeon HD 7770 72000 MB/sec
Difference: 14016 (19%)

Texel Rate

The GeForce GTX 1050 3GB will be a lot (approximately 67%) better at anisotropic filtering than the Radeon HD 7770. (explain)

GeForce GTX 1050 3GB 66816 Mtexels/sec
Radeon HD 7770 40000 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 26816 (67%)

Pixel Rate

The GeForce GTX 1050 3GB is a lot (about 109%) better at AA than the Radeon HD 7770, and also capable of handling higher resolutions without losing too much performance. (explain)

GeForce GTX 1050 3GB 33408 Mpixels/sec
Radeon HD 7770 16000 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 17408 (109%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the max amount of data (counted in MB per second) that can be transported across the external memory interface within a second. It's calculated by multiplying the bus width by its memory speed. If the card has DDR memory, it must be multiplied by 2 once again. If DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The higher the card's memory bandwidth, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, High Dynamic Range and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum amount of texture map elements (texels) that can be applied in one second. This figure is worked out by multiplying the total texture units by the core clock speed of the chip. The better this number, the better the card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels in a second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum amount of pixels that the graphics chip can possibly record to its local memory per second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is calculated by multiplying the number of Render Output Units by the the card's clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also called Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel fill rate is also dependant on many other factors, especially the memory bandwidth - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the ability to get to the maximum fill rate.
