GeForce GTX 550 Ti 116 Watts
GeForce GTX 465 200 Watts
Difference: 84 Watts (72%)

Memory Bandwidth

Performance-wise, the GeForce GTX 465 should theoretically be a small bit superior to the GeForce GTX 550 Ti overall. (explain)

GeForce GTX 465 102592 MB/sec
GeForce GTX 550 Ti 98496 MB/sec
Difference: 4096 (4%)

Texel Rate

The GeForce GTX 550 Ti is a bit (about 8%) more effective at anisotropic filtering than the GeForce GTX 465. (explain)

GeForce GTX 550 Ti 28800 Mtexels/sec
GeForce GTX 465 26708 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 2092 (8%)

Pixel Rate

The GeForce GTX 550 Ti will be a small bit (more or less 11%) faster with regards to FSAA than the GeForce GTX 465, and also able to handle higher resolutions without slowing down too much. (explain)

GeForce GTX 550 Ti 21600 Mpixels/sec
GeForce GTX 465 19424 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 2176 (11%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the max amount of data (in units of megabytes per second) that can be transported over the external memory interface in a second. The number is calculated by multiplying the card's interface width by its memory clock speed. In the case of DDR type RAM, it must be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The higher the card's memory bandwidth, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, HDR and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum amount of texture map elements (texels) that can be applied in one second. This is calculated by multiplying the total texture units by the core speed of the chip. The higher the texel rate, the better the video card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels in one second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum amount of pixels that the graphics chip can possibly record to its local memory per second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is calculated by multiplying the amount of Raster Operations Pipelines by the the card's clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - sometimes also referred to as Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel output rate also depends on many other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the ability to reach the max fill rate.
